Kuala terengganu:Those commuting outstation on express buses from here will no longer need to travel a distance to catch their transportation with the closure of tanjung express terminal.Kuala terengganu municipal council has decided to open up the facility at mpkt terminal in jalan syed hussein catering for express buses only.Council president datuk adzlan mohd dagang said a meeting was held with express bus operators on the decision, as there were more facilities available at the new terminal. "The state government has agreed on the matter and we have stationed our enforcement personnel to monitor the traffic situation there for a while,"He said here on thursday.He said passengers would also be advised accordingly as some were still waiting for buses at the old terminal.The tanjung terminal was closed on aug 18 to make way for the national day celebration.However the council prolonged the closure after their felt it was more convenient for the operators to use the new terminal.Adzlan said the council was upgrading the tickets booths for the bus operators and constructing more public amenities.He added that jalan syed hussein would be turned into a oneway street to avoid any bottlenecks when all operators shift to the new site.
